Keeping JuliGrace Pupils Healthy

At JuliGrace Private Schools, we want every child to stay healthy, energetic, and ready to learn. Returning to school often means early mornings, busy classrooms, and increased exposure to germs. Here are simple tips to help our pupils stay well throughout the term:

1. Protecting Against Colds & Flu

Cold and flu germs spread quickly among children. Please encourage your child to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze and to wash their hands regularly. A small personal health pouch containing items like a thermometer, throat lozenges, or mild fever medicine can also be helpful.

2. Asthma Care

For pupils with asthma, proper inhaler use is important. Parents should inform the class teacher or school nurse about their child’s symptoms and medications so we can support them throughout the school day.

3. Preventing Head Lice

Head lice are common in schools. Remind your child not to share combs, hats, scarves, or items that touch the hair. If lice are noticed, please seek prompt treatment and inform the school so we can guide you appropriately.

4. Boosting Immunity

A strong immune system helps children stay active. We encourage families to provide balanced meals with fruits and vegetables. For picky eaters, age-appropriate multivitamins may help fill nutritional gaps.

5. Malaria Prevention

Because malaria remains a risk in Nigeria, please ensure your child sleeps under treated nets at home and uses mosquito repellents when necessary. Keeping the home environment free from stagnant water also helps protect everyone.

6. Personal Hygiene

Good hygiene is the first step to good health. Pupils should bathe daily, brush their teeth, and wash their hands after using the restroom, before eating, and after playing. When water isn’t available, a small hand sanitizer in their bag is useful.
